WHAT IS BODY FAT?

Fat is one of the basic components that make up the structure of your body. The other components include muscle, water, bone and your organs - the brain, liver, kidneys, spleen, stomach, pancreas, and intestines. etc. All are necessary for normal, healthy functioning.

Body fat can be divided into two categories: Essential fat and storage fat.

How to Measure Waist Circumference?

Locate the upper hip bone and the top of the right iliac crest. Place a measuring tape in a horizontal plane around the abdomen at the level of the iliac crest. Before reading the tape measure, make sure the tape is secure, but not too tight and is parallel to the floor. The reading should be taken at the end of an expiration.
